Generations of happiness |
From babies to grandparent's Disney appeals to a wide variety of generations, but how? |
Walt Disney World, located in Lake Buena Vista Florida is seen to be a place of extreme happiness. It is perceived, as a utopian society in which everyone involved is apart of the show. The employees, also known as cast members, attempt to create a story for each guests of the park to experience. This story attempts to appeal to each new and existing generation that enters the theme park. However, through societal changes, Disney as a company continues to adapt the ways in which this story can appeal to their newest and oldest customers. Many argue that when guests enter the park a “Disney experience” is enacted upon them in a positive way. Through this well-known experience, many wonder how Disney creates this perception amongst such a vast audience. Newborn babies attend Disney, however, so do grandparents and also many children involved in the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Disney attracts a wide variety of people, young and old, healthy and sick, and Disney as a company is able to enact this one, utopian experience amongst many of their visitors. Whether the visitors of the park know it or not, a certain show is being put on for them and through this an experience is created. The marketing strategies Disney uses throughout their theme parks are ways in which this experience is enacted. Whether it is the way the guests are greeted at their entrance to the park, or the view they get when riding the Dumbo ride, Disney uses a variety of marketing strategies to maintain the Disney experience they are known to have in their theme parks. Through marketing strategies such as the employees that work for the company, the Corporate Alliances Disney partners themselves with, and the various events the theme parks host each year, Disney is able to create a utopian experience amongst every one of its guests, young and old.
